Learn all about the summer time plants around us & the basics of natural dyeing
Join us for an engaging and educational workshop at Wally Farms with Hanoux, where you'll delve into the world of summertime plants and the basics of natural dyeing.
You'll start with a guided foraging walk through our forest, fields, and wetlands, responsibly foraging abundant plants and learning how to identify and collect them for use as natural pigments. After the walk, we'll take a break with some light snacks before diving into the natural dyeing process.
Discover how to transform the plants we've gathered into beautiful pigments. We'll cover techniques for creating solid colors and intricate plant textures on fabric. You'll get hands-on experience as you naturally dye silk and cotton scarves, leaving with a unique, hand-dyed creation and a deeper understanding of the plants around you in the Hudson Valley.
Wally Farms is conveniently located just 20 minutes from downtown Hudson, NY. Our picturesque farm provides the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of creativity and learning. We look forward to spending this enriching afternoon with you at our beautiful space.
