Wally Fun at Waterfront Wednesdays

Did you know Wally will be participating each Wednesday, showcasing some fun things we are up to on the farm.

This week, July 13, We’ll be serving tastes of a delicious sun tea prepared with herbs from Far Out Container Farm and some foraged indigenous plants from our woods. DON’T KNOW WHAT SUN TEA IS? It’s a fun activity to do with kids, you likely have the ingredients in your home garden, or if you’re an experienced forager you’ll know what plants to find. Here is our recipe…

1. Gather your chosen herbs, rinse to remove bugs and dust.

2. Fill a clean mason jar about 1/2 full with fresh herbs and cover with water. If using dry herbs, place in a jar with water and shake to mix.

3. Seal tightly and place in a sunny spot for 6-8 hours, giving the jar a shake a couple times over the course of the day.

4. Strain and enjoy over ice.
